Well I finally got around to joining the club, after lurking for awhile hahaha now a full pum.
I have a little treasure that really did come out of a barn, where my friend had stored it until we had a cup of tea, a haggle & a deal.
Its been sat in the garage at mine for a few years now, but have now started getting it ready to go back on the road this coming year.

Hi saltflatracer
welcome to the club!
You have a real barn find there with the period changes people used to do back in the days..4 in 1 exhaust, custom paintwork, Z1000 rear wheel , disk brake and swingarm...
It looks like a Z1 frame with a lot of parts of younger bikes. Anyway it's yours and you're proud of it.
Get it safe to ride and enjoy it!
Let the good times roll!!

the differences between a little boy and an adult man is the price and size of their toys!

Re: Hi Folks
Thank you all for the welcome.
Phillippe you are correct, it's a 1974 Z1A frame, with a 73 Z1 engine with late model carbs. I finally found out after a FB chat with Keith Foulsham, that its an Italian import not a yank import woohoo.
The wiring is not the best as you can imagine after 43 years , so I have got all new looms, reg/rec, stator from Z-Power & have started to fit them will also chang the switch gear out to, don't want it shorting out & a fire.
Its bit of a mismatch of date codes that are to far apart to warrant a resto, so its gonna be left as is with just the necessary safety stuff being done, not gonna even wash it so its still looks like its out the barn.
Adrian I'm in Christchurch, so you might see it around this coming summer.
