Hello! New to Z1000 ownership
Hello All,
I've very recently bought a Z1000J2 and just joined this Z1OC/Forum, and this is my first post.
Its my first ever Z1000...In fact over the years I've not had that many Kawasakis. Way way back I had a KH250B1 and then a little later a Z650. But then I was seduced by the Italians...and so worked my way through quite a few Laverdas, Ducatis and Moto Guzzis...and still have a few lurking around.
Last year I just started to get an urge for a big Japanese four...and decided it had to be a Kawasaki...so have been keeping a lookout for a while and this one turned up just before Christmas.
Apologies for the quality of the pictures...taken just after I got the bike home...and not worth taking any at the moment as since then I've been taking big chunks off it to clean, check, grease etc etc as you do.
So I've not ridden it at all yet...and am really looking forward to getting it all back together and some better weather.
Regards,
Nigel

Thanks both.
Paul - I'm just near to Lichfield.
The bike is probably better than it looks in the pictures. Very low mileage and completely original...apart from service items like plugs and filters etc. Still has all its original stickers on the tank, forks and footrest hangers etc.

Paint it green with a blue and white stripe ☺
Actually do what you want with it, it's your bike.

Looks very tidy - hope you get out for a quick blast soooooon!
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
Re: Hello! New to Z1000 ownership
Thanks all for the very nice welcome.
And, for the avoidance of any doubt, I will definitely be keeping it original and standard.
I really like the way it looks, which is very 80's, and I think It would be a great shame to loose its originality now after nearly 36 years.
So, assuming it goes as well as it looks (and no, the tyres are definitely not original - but I wont start a tyre thread here...), then it will be one of my very long term keepers.

Nigel

Hi Nigel,
Small world, its Andy with the Dunstall.
Glad to see that you "went for it" and I'm sure that you will enjoy it.
I'm still zedless but looking to sell the kettle and rejoin the fold.
Have fun and maybe bump in to you at one of the local meets.
Cheers

Thanks Keith.
Hi Andy! Yes, small world indeed.
Good luck with the Dunstall sale - its coming up to spring so good time to be selling. You obviously really regret selling the Zed...Yep, I'll look out for you - at least you will know what bike I'll be on.

Nigel
