Hello,

I thought I’d introduce myself.

I bought my B2 around 15 years ago and ran it for quite a few years on nice days alongside my everyday stuff. This is how it looked when in one piece.

It had one or two small cosmetic issues and also the motor was a little tight so in around 2013 I decided to sort it properly. Life got in the way and it’s had to stay in bits and be moved from garage to garage quite a lot but I eventually got it back in my house. This is pretty much as it looks now although I’ve broken it down a bit further:

I’ve recently made a start & found it has a ZX11 head and cams with, I think, B2 barrels. Pistons and pins are also ZX11 so I guess the crank maybe too. The case is original B2. Apart from 8 cam cap threads that need repairing there is little wear in the head. One bore is scored and they are all slightly under size, which seemed a little odd, although piston to wall clearances are just big enough against the spec so my plan is to take it out to 1170 and sort the threads. I’m going to try to resist doing too much more as I’d like to get it back in use and it wasn’t too bad to start with.

I have acquired some nice bits over the years including a Kerker pipe and decent cooler. I’ll convert to hydraulic clutch and sort switch gear and rear brake too. I’ll keep the one piece seat and tail but tidy it up a bit. I’m not sure where to go with paint yet but will take inspiration from a lot of great projects on here. I’d like ignition to be better too and change out the odd thing I don’t like.

My other bike is a KTM 640, which gets occasional use as my commuter hack into central London, and I’ve had a few ZX11s and 1000rxs in the past.

Great forum btw.

Cheers
David

Hi
welcome to the club!
Your bike seems to have a lot of potential. Get it on the road again and enjoy!
