Howdy to all. A new guy here,(fng) from the States. It is great to see that the Z's are being kept alive around the globe. So many thanks to you for your web-site. They were a big part of my motorcycling life and always will be . I still have a KZ-1000 from back in the 1980's and just can't seem to part with it. Even though age tells me that I should. Good fortunes to all...

Some big bore carbs too but what's with the cling-wrap over the air filter pods?

Thanks to all. And yes that is a APE cylinder block, (Big block or 'Gorilla block' as it was called in the day, still with the APE logo). It is pretty much a drag-race motor, 1327cc built back in the late 1980's when I lived in Alaska. Those were the days!! It's been in storage for 20+yr's, and I just recently got it out to bring her back to life. The pics were right after its first bath after storage and thats why the cling wrap over the pods and exhaust

Thanks again guys for the welcome, and yes besides fishing and hunting, drag-racing was quite popular back then in Alaska, during it's short lived season. Hopefully it still is today. A few more pics from back then. Mid-late 1980's. Early Top-Fuel at Polar raceway Park with Ron Webb and his 'Fire and Ice' Fueler, and Dave, (the guy that built my motor) from Anchorage Drag Bike, staged at the lights on his 'turbo-funny bike'. Those really were the Days.!!!
