Hi Duane
welcome to the club!
Nice GPz 1100 you have there.
Before ordering pistons, open up the engine to see if you have a B2 engine...mine had a Uni trac engine and those have a different cranckshaft, other pistons, head and valves, so don't hurry with ordering parts.
Good luck!

Hi Phillips, thanks for the advise.
Would you have some tips as to how I could recognise what the engine came from?
Thanks Duane.

Take the timing casing off (rh side) if it's got mechanical advance mechanism it's a J type engine (GPZ1100B1/B2) if it's got no advance mechanism it's a Unitrak (advance is electronic)
Yours looks like a B2 engine though.

Your engine number should be in between these numbers I believe for a B2 engine.

KZT10BE010401 - 016449

Looking at the front of the barrels lower left hand side it should read 1089cc

Hi Gus, it definitely says 1089 on the barrel but the engine number is outside of the range you have supplied. Both bikes have numbers that start with KZT10B - 017. I have two of these 1100,s and both the engine numbers are outside the range.
One bike was registered September 1982 and this one was registered April 1983 !!! I am pretty sure they are both B2 engines though just trying to confirm this. I have also measured the grudgeon pins as I believe the B2 engine has a 17mm pin which this one has.
It would have been nice if Kawasaki actually put B2 on the engines. Suppose it’s a bit late to tell them now :D :D

Maybe my number of - 016449 is incorrect.

Somebody maybe along with a better answer.

Thanks for your help, I’m sure everyone on here will be sick of me by the time I’ve got them both finished.
If I find out any more I’ll let everyone know.
Stay safe.

Hi Adrian, with mine being KZT10B-**** I could safely assume that they are B2 engines ??
Thanks.
