Hi All,
I'm new here.
I had been searching for hours on the internet over the last few weeks looking for parts, information etc. to help me restore my '83 1000r. I came across this forum and I recon ye are the people I need to be in touch with.
I've had mostly only Kawasaki's since '90 and although I have taken a long break due to work and family...The kids are rared and the missuses bite isn't half what it used to be, so I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle.
Phil

I have her in several pieces at the minute( the Z, not the wife). I'll stick the tank and saddle on her and take a few snaps but she's not pretty (the wif...never mind!).

Okay, I know she is in a sorry state!
I sold her to a mate in '98 on the basis that he gave me first refusal when he moved her on. I met him a few years later and he said he was selling it if I wanted it, I wasn't in a position to take it though.
I met him again just a few years ago and asked him about the bike, it turned out he never sold it but would sell it back to me for the same price I sold it to him. 20 years later and time was not kind to her.
It has been in a mates shed since, but not for much longer!
(Hope I have attached the image correctly)

Hi Skid Mark
welcome to the club!
As far as I can see on the picture in the download she's not bad at all! She's almost complete and a very good base to start with!
Just attach your pictures by clicking on the "Attachments" button near the "Options" button. Afterwards click on "Add files" and then on "submit files". Much easier for others. The pictures are visible in your text and we don't have to download them.
Keep us posted of your progress!
Greetings from Belgium
Philippe

A very simple reason, she is a KZ1000J, She was pretty much as is when I bought her originally although she was in much better condition. I wasn't to bothered, or aware of whether she was a genuine ELR or a ELRR. I loved her when I saw her. I was also looking at a Red Gpz1100 at the time I came across this. The Gpz was in better condition to be honest, but the heart wants what the heart wants. It might upset a few people that she is not all that she appears, but 'it is what it is'.
