Hello All
Now nearly 60 and still missing my Z1300 and bikes in general.
My rides were usually Italian: Ducati and Laverda, but I still have a hole in my heart for my Z13.
Who knows I might just buy one - now that I'm mature enough not to act the idiot on it . . ..
Rhino
PS. Prices? WTF happened there?????

Hi Rhino
welcome to the club!
The Z1300 belongs to an era where the liquid cooled bikes were the exeption.
I have one in my collection too but I don't ride it, it's only for display.
Most of the members have air cooled bikes but nevertheless you're welcome.
The prices of the old bikes have risen to astronomical heights, even for basket cases. Be warned if you want to buy an old bike that you have to pay a lot of money. I'm sure you'll find one that suits your needs. Good luck with the search!

the differences between a little boy and an adult man is the price and size of their toys!

Welcome youngster
Being older doesn't mean you can't still be a fruitcake. I'm nearly 69 and ride a 350bhp Ninja H2 (as well as my Z1-B when I can decipher the bloody registration process ).
Keep on riding.

Or maybe trying to get back to a time when they didn't have someone indoors commenting "How much!!! You could have got a nice car for that."

I have been riding since 1976 at 16.I had my first Z1R at 18 years old AWT446S about £2000 but a flat week wage on the coal face was£65 per week before tax etc there fore prices aren't much different now in perspective. Most people got a Z650,Z900 or KH500 for £99 deposit and 5 years at£17 per week, first crash or girlfriend pregnant they all ended up in the river Aire is stolen. There was a period you could give them away but now the tide has turned for now, when people were 17 years old they dreamed off certain bikes and when older can afford it so what! Youngsters now don't want old bikes much and want LC Yamahas etc.
