Hi, new to the group and classic Zeds, here is my my 1977 Z1000A1. Imported from Holland in 94 to the UK, and been stored for the last 20 years. Although oil changed yearly and started now and again according to the previous owner. Going to go through the bike and do a restoration but not show pony status.

I have been advised to at least change out the top chain guide, but im think after so long in storage I should do them all?
Cold compression all over 120psi

Anyway hello from sunny Kent and looking forward to plenty of shed time and no doubt pestering for advice

welcome to the club!

Very nice Z1000A1 you have there.
If the engine doesn't rattle when running, leave the camchain and the rest of the parts as they are.
If it does rattle, do a complete disassembly of the engine and change all the parts of the camchain, oil seals and gaskets. A huge job but worth the while.

Thanks for the welcome everyone and the advice Philippe. The engine is only showing 27500 miles so hopefully will be ok. I will see how things go before rushing in on any work. Still very early days.

Hello Paul good to see another Z in Sunny kent

As Darren says, another z in Kent is always good to hear about.
Darren's in Snodland, I'm in Meopham ish, kawarascal's in gravesend, where are you based? All most got enough for a club meet!

Another new member and recent Z owner from Kent here. Im in the Cliffe Woods area, so not far from Gravesend, Meopham or Snodland. Its good to know there are a few local members nearby.
