Hi,
I'm Paul from Tamworth (Australia not England).
My Z900A4 is nearly completed. Due to a lack of parts and money when I started this build I used a Z1000MKII as a donor bike to rebuild my Z900. Currently running Z1000 forks, mag wheels with Z1000 swing arm rear disc, etc. 1040cc bore, Road & Track cams, standard 26mm carbs (re-jetted) with a period Yoshi exhaust system. Only the paintwork to go and ready for registration (MOT).
My brother has a 1977 Z650B1 that is about to be started as my next project.
Also love my Yamaha 2 strokes - 1983 RZ350 (restored) and an RD350LC in parts and resto just started.
After not riding for some years and sick of waiting for my Z900 to be finished I had a rush of blood - midlife crisis - last year and bought a 2003 VFR800, then a 2005 GSXR750. Love riding them both but can't wait for my 900. Did 2 years of my apprenticeship on early Zs at a small workshop and then a few years in a Kawasaki dealership. I post some pics after the bike is painted - handy to have a brother who is a spray painter living 3 blocks away.
Thanks for welcoming me to join up with some fellow Z enthusiasts.
Cheers from Australia.
P.S I've visited the UK 3 times, eloped and got married in Scotland in 2002. Love your country but wouldn't like to be riding in your winters! You guys have some balls riding on those icy/snowy roads.
