Just to say hello as new on here . Just got a very original Z1000a1 . First bike for a few years . Getting to know her , usual carb problems (running rich) . Be great to find some Z1 owners near me

Welcome.
Likely cause of the rich running is worn Choke plungers, float heights and perished 'O' rings on the needle jet tubes if the jetting etc is correct.
