Hi all, just joined up having got myself a Z after many years. The bike seems to have a chequered history according to HPI but something seems wrong. Anyway, thats another story. Hoping to end up with a great bike. Will show pics along the way.

The only issue is, its aparently a Cat B, the seller told me that he found that when he did the HPI check but the Owner was not aware of this. What seems strange to me other then no apparent repairs is that the bike had been MOT'd and has a V5 for many years since the "accident" Cat B should not have a V5. i need to do some research but I bought it thinking i'd have to change the frame.

Hi Phil, Cat B can be put back on the road with the right paperwork , IE engineers report, documented repair, valid mot and insurance, I'm currently doing the same thing with a Lawson Z1100r, Bike is in my name at DVLA but they won't give me the V5 until its done. Nice bike by the way

				Hi Phil
beautifull bike! Congratulations! Seems to come from the US (single front disc, no passenger strap, orange reflector) and in Z1B colour.
Keep her that way. If you want to improve her, add a second front disc, caliper and 5/8 front master brake cylinder, that's all.
Enjoy her and "Let the good times roll"

Does the Cat B status get removed? maybe thats what he did, the bike shows Cat B on HPI.

Thanks for the comments all, I hope to make the bike a bit tidier without ruining the look, its not new but generally in quite good condition. need to sort out the electrics etc, a new loom for a start. Any feedback on Z Power's looms?

I've done plenty of swaps for those that don't want the cost of refurbishing the original loom.
The repro looms are good enough. However, my advice is that if you're going to do it, replace the main loom, rear light loom and the wiring panel loom at the same time.
Note that the quality of the plugs on the panel can be crap and instead of coloured plastic they are painted. So check before buying.
