I have 650 bars on mine the handle bar controls have to be at an angle to clear the tank
Re: Just bought this
respoking with stainless is a good idea. You can also go to a stainless rim at the same time if you want.
Central Wheel Components are good. If you were in Scotland I'd reccommend Barry at Windygates.

Check your engine number too, it may have been changed at some point but could well be original. I've got a z1000 and a z1r which both have z1b engines. Just what was available at the time.
Thanks engine number Z1E114*** so quite a way off the frame number Z1F097***

Thanks I'll check them out, I was thinking I'd go stainless spokes at least but maybe rims as well would be good

Re: Just bought this
That looks like a tidy bike mate.
Just sticking my neb in again....the engine numbers starting z1e-1***** are, I believe, B1 Ltd.
It's 45 years old so no great shakes...it's a survivor!
The exhaust looks more like, as Gray said earlier, a Delkevic.....the pipe bracket is nearer the front peg, the Kerker has the bracket on top and closer to the original exhaust mount.
Enjoy it when you get it and have a good think what you're going to do......ride as is or complete resto......it's yours, do whatever you want
Enjoy!

The Delkevic and Kerker headers are a very similar shape the collector is even the same diameter - my Kerker megaphone fits one perfectly, but the Delkevic has a lot more springs and the header pipes aren’t welded into the collector. Some of the Kerker megaphones do have a bracket underneath not on top. The Delkevic megaphone is a completely different shape to the Kerker.

Re: Just bought this
No worries Chris, I was just comparing it to the three kerkers in the shed.

I only know because I've got some Delkevic headers AND a Kerker in the shed...
Most of the Kerkers do have a top mount but the Lawson ones (and possibly some others) are underneath
