The calipers are better behind the forks legs much more sensible place for them that’s why Kawasaki eventually did it - I’d leave them there unless you want to be really pedantic… :shock: :D

Nice bike, I had a Z1000a2, and it was a fantastic bike.
Traded it in for a J2 in 1982 and got £700 [what a mistake that was].
Good luck with the rebuild.

That's good to know Paul.

I also have the orginal spoked wheels, which will be getting refurbished over the winter and refitted to the bike. I may sell the alloys after that.
