Good Afternoon All,

My name is Mark and I have just joined the club. I'm in the process of searching for a Z900 but not having the expertise I would hope forum members will steer me in the right direction. I visited the Stafford Classic Bike Show, (Saturday) and was speaking to someone on the stand. I'm sorry, I didn't get his name but he was very helpful and he gave me a brief in-sight in owing what of these classic bikes.

I could kick myself now for not getting his name.

welcome to he club!
When you're searching a Z900 it all depends on your technical skills and of the money you can spend.
If you know something about mechanics, if you have a workshop with the appropriate tools and if you have money to spend, I would say buy a wreck of a Z900 and start a restoration. In my experience a restoration of a Z1, Z1a, Z1b or a Z900A4 costs about 10,000 Euro if you do the restoration yourself. That is without the price of the wreck!!!
If you don't have any of the items listed above, I would advise you to buy the best Z900 you can afford.
I don't want to take your dream away, I only want to warn you.

Just remember that those bikes are almost 50 years old (the Z1 appeared in '72, the Z900 A4 in '76), and that they need care to keep them riding. When you bought one, take good care of it and it'll reward you with lots of riding fun.

As soon as you found one, take some pictures and post them on here please.

As Philippe said all depends on what you want to spend and your skills, i would always go the best most complete that you can afford some parts can be elusive and command a premium but it is the journey you will enjoy

If you have the skills and the money to spend, I have pretty much a complete Z900 in parts. Been collecting for years, but I've decided that as I have other more interesting projects, I'd be willing to sell any or all of it.

Hi Chris, I'm afraid not I am from the North West and was with a mate on the Saturday. Like I said I could kick myself, for asking his name. He was talking about Kawasaki's and I was talking to him about my CBX.
