Hi all, just registered with your forum. If I'm honest, it was to advertise my KZ1000 (sorry, an American import I'm afraid).
I spent forever typing a lengthy narrative and added about 7 or 8 photos (successfully). Then I tried to add a walk round video with the engine running and an error code came up saying it didn't recognise the format (mp4). I clicked the 'x' on that box and appear to have lost the whole ad. I can't see any 'drafts' link.
Do I need to start from scratch again?
I'll attach one photo of the bike anyhow
Thanks
Martin

I think I've just found the answer to my question. This old git (in my 60s now) didn't notice/use the 'save draft' button.
Doh :??

Hi Bashful

nice KZ1000A1 in Z900A4 colours you have there.
It's a pitty that the forks are reversed and that the brake calipers stand behind the fork legs...but she has double disk rotors and that's a bonus!
But a nice bike anyway, congratulations.
Greetings from Belgium
Philippe

Hi Phillippe,
Thanks. I thought that about the fork legs when I bought her. I assume someone, way back, swapped the fork legs over for some reason. I think most Japanese bikes had their calipers behind the fork legs back then.
Regarding the A4 paint set up, I read that in the states, you could opt for this particular green (I forget the two greens) and you got the previous year's green ( as here).

Don't think that's correct re paint. A1's were either diamond wine red or diamond sky blue the world over. Your bike has been repainted in Z900 a4 colours.
Do you numbers corralate with the numbers I posted? Reason for asking is you have Ltd exhausts fitted.

Thanks for the links with engine and chassis numbers. Both on my bike are for a US A1 model.
Martin.

The shape of the pillion foot peg brackets confirms it is a Z1000A1 and not a LTD version

He may be referring to the USA built 1977 A1 with frame numbers KZTOOA500001 - 507026 Still an A1 but a US Nebraska built Kz1000.

In The US they were also building 900 A5s in 1977 so that may be why there is some confusion over having the option of an A4 paint scheme that year - they could have had either a new Z1000 or a new Kz900 (A5)
