Hi, not much to say, as you may guess from my username I'm Doug, and I have a Z1000A2 
I bought it several years ago from D&K, it's an A2 but had A1 forks, and it ran terrible so I put it in the shed until I retired, I bought while the prices were still in my range. It's now got A2 forks, a UK seat, and I'm slowly, slowly sorting the electrics out. The reg/rec wasn't connected, some wires were just snipped, others were mutilated and taped together with that horrible tape that leaves a nasty sticky mess behind. The stator was looking ropey, and some of the insulation had worn off the cabling and you could see the metal beneath. On the good side it's got Dyna S ignition but not the coils, I renewed the reg/rec with Z Power one, and got a new fuse box and coloured terminals from them as well. I've stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, and reassembled the carbs, with chokes and air jets from zed1015, so I'm close to firing it up. I'm hoping to get it running enough to use for while, before I strip and rebuild it.
