Mikuni RS38 Flatside Set Up?

Right then, got a brand new spanking set of 38mm Flatslides & some new K&N filters. I plan to fit them to my Z1000 (Money Muncher Project)
Question is, where do I start jet wise?
Bike is bored to 1105cc, zorst is nothing much (straight through, shotened can)
I was planning to start with 135 main jets & 117.5 pilots, leaving the needle circlip somewhere in the middle.
Any thoughts

Thats about the std (as they come from the factory) - but I think 17.5 pilots will be a better bet

Sounds reasonable... Did you enlarge the ports and fit bigger valves as well ? If so, expect to go a bit higher.

Maybe also get a little selection of jets... let's say down to 130 (just for cross-testing) and up to somewhere around 145.

Forgot to say, ports have been 'cleaned up' a little.
I do have 130, 135 & 140 jet's in my arsenal.

Then just throw them onto the bike and see what happens.

Neil, ultimately that's the way I will go, however the bike has only covered a couple of hundred miles since being re-bored & I have too much mechanical sympathy to see it ranted to bits on a dyno so soon.

I have had two bikes dynoed (ZZR1100 & ZZR1200) & it is certainly an experience being in the dyno room while it's done.
