Baldy Brent...I have done this recently ..I was spurred on by the Bonneville/z650 rep 1100 done by another member.. unfortunately his posts got lost during the melt down ..it is quite straight forward and involves cutting off the lower fixed Z650 front motor mounts and making some new rear Mounts ...then welding in a tube and some front lower mounts for the 1000 Motor..I have a link on FB if you want to check I am now in the process of re-assembly then to Electrics
I still have some pics from the Bonneville 1100 rep if u PM me I'll mail them to u as it shows in better detail the mods to the frame.

Ok, I'll type something and put the picutres back up.
It will be a bit more brief than the original as I dont remember the ups and downs of the project so much now.
As of today -the bike still makes me happy.
It keeps delivering- best project I have ever done.
Fi is now pretty good, bike starts and runs well.
I've still got to finish the badges and I have a set of forks I'd like to put on the front.
The forks need new yokes and new mudguard mounts- its all a bit spendy and its just a wish at the moment. Perhaps in the winter.

I have all the pics still and the bike of course.
Should I re-create my old post?
Would you guys be interested?
It was a very interesting post, it would be very useful source for info, and it is definately missed.
take care

Hi Julian
It would be appreciated you put the project back up,your attention to detail was immaculate and urged me to get the megasquirt and throttle bodies to convert my 1260 to FI as we have already discussed.
regards
Grahame
Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, beer in the other, body used up, totally worn-out and screaming, "WOO HOO, what a ride!"
