looking for a set of carbs for my z1000j (1075cc) project. I want to use the z1 (not 1000j) standard switchgear so need a set of carbs that are twin cable. any ideas as whats best for the road. I am keeping the standard 1000j carbs for when i race it,

basicly i thought about mikuni 33mm smoothbores .
if anyone has anything for sale i would be interested,

arnt smoothbores better for racing as there a git for setting up for low revs.thought it might be better having the j ones for road work.thats what ive read about them,could be wrong.im after a set of smoothbores myself, :wink:

I got a nice set of 29mm bore Mikuni twin cable (push/pull) carbs - of a GS1000 I believe - but fit a Zed OK :wink:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

cant use the j ones because they are only single cable so have to use the j switchgear.
was thinking a bigger set of carbs than standard would run better on me tuned engine.
there are 2 sets of 33mm smoothbores on ebay at the moment.
standard ones are 34mm so would have thought same size or bigger would be better.
