Do you know an engineer who can fix this cylinder?

was cleaning up the engine on a H1 I've bought and saw this.....
There's a crack all the way down the transfer port going right through to the liner. Can this be sorted out??
I've not got any experience with getting this kind of thing sorted so would appreciate any leads.

You could try Larry Houghton at Lamb Engineering. He is based in South Newton in the industrial estate behind the car sales on the main road through south Newton. Watch out for the speed camera. While you are there check out the bikes he has built. He is one clever bloke and a nice one too. His bikes have won shows here, Europe and America.

quite a common thing on the h1. you can either look for another cylinder probably the cheapest option or get yours re sleeved

z1bman, I;m not sure how much I could get another for and how long it would take so would rather get it fixed if it's not stupid money. Thanks for the link.
What about just welding it and then re-boring?

If the liner is anything like the are on zeds they are not too hard to change

they are not like a four stroke motor the the aluminium cylinder is cast around the metal cylinder sleeve making it impossible to remove by the same method of removing a four stroke sleeve., they have to be machined out + then the new sleeve is fitted in the same way as a four stroke probably cost £150 +

Try Motrac. They did a great job welding and re-plating my KX500 cylinder.
