generator noise

hello gents i removed the generator cover from my gpz1100 A1 to paint it. i put it back on today put the oil back in it started fine but every so often a rattling noise will come from that area has anyone got any ideas what i could have done wrong.it seemed to go back on ok.

Get the cover off & check all rotor bolts - back of it where the starter roller gear stuff is :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Did you remove the stator wire holding clip?
If so did it go back in with the bottom end of it tucked behind the two little cast bosses on the casing?
If not it will rub the outside of the stator and make a rubbing or tinkling sound.
You'll see it if you take it off again as it will have a shiny mark on the rotor's outer casing.
