Im sure JMC used to do something similar back in the '80s / '90s as a monoshock conversion for Zeds

I was inspired when I saw Spence (Spen72) selling a load of stuff a while back on this forum, there was what looked like a bolt on shock mount in a pile of stuff he had up for grabs.

OK, been fairly busy this week, bike came with a well made aluminium battery box, which seemed too good not to use. just needed a small trim.

Image

Then it was just about 'spot on' for my freshly purchased Motobatt battery.

Image

I fitted some new battery mount rubbers, courtesy of Z-Power (tab mounts have now been re-located).

Image

Whole thing now mounts to the original rear battery box crossmember & my new shock mount.

I've also had a 'little investigation' as to what's inside the motor. :??

I must say it looks quite promising. I whipped all the plugs out to reveal some fairly shiny looking pistons. :D

Image

Closer inspection reveals a direction arrow stamped not cast into the pistons & the letter A.

Image

I plan to get the motor running, before I pull it apart anymore, just to see if there are any underlying problems.

Very nice, like the front end.

Reference the engine, usually if the pistons have an arrow pointing fwd it means that they have been convicted of some sort of crime, they need to be sent away to do time and it just so happened that I live in Australia were its full of convicts, send it down here

Been busy with me carbs. :D

Stripped & degreased 'em all, then put 'em all through me ultrasonic cleaner, then rebuilt 'em with fresh carb kits.

Image

Picked up a little bit of polishing & plating from Mikey, turned round in under a week.  Probably something to do with the chocolate flap jack. :mmm :bla eh Mikey?

Only 'fly in the ointment' is the return throttle nipple housing is buggered.

Anyone got a spare to sell :?

Anyway, all back together & fitted with a stainless steel laser cut top bracket courtesy of DaveZ1.... I thank you sir. :bow

PJ, New vice was inspired after seeing 'Oggy 5 sheds' vice upgrade.

Came from here,
http://www.screwfix.com/p/irwin-record- ... se-6/77139
And was a bargain, I even got another 10% off cos the nuts that tighten the base were missing. :D

Piggy. PM returned, no doubt I'll be shopping for biscuits & cake in the next day or so.

Steve, what seat you using? Looks good. Is it just a standard seat cut down? I want one like that for my Z900 to replace the 2-4 seat that is on it.
