gpz1100 b1 530 chain conversion
hi all, has anyone done a 530 chain conversion on a gpz1100b1 ?
i need to replace my worn chain and sprockets soon,currently running standard gearing of 15/41 ,with a metamex under braced swinger and zrx rear shocks which is causing the chain to rub the top of the swinger and comes very close to the under bracing bit .
i guess i could go up a tooth or 2 on the front and stay with the 620 size
or would switching to 530 size give me more options ?
any help greatly accepted mick.

To convert from 630 to 530 and retain the same ratio divide by 5 and multiply by 6, so a 630 sprocket with 35 teeth would need 42 teeth in a 530.

Most people seem to prefer 530 these days for cost and weight saving. If you are running a standard rear wheel the sprocket should be a fairly straight forward affair. The tricky bit will be the chain length to go with your swinger and shock dimensions but if you know the 630 size you have now even this is straight forward. You will probably need to fit a slider in any case.

Gents, I know this post is a little old but I too am after replacing the C&S off the B1, which is in standard trim. Wondered what the advantages / disadvantages and costs are between the 630 and 530 sets.
Kwaki lover - Z1000R2, ZX9R F1P, GPz1100B1, 350 S2 and a brace of 500 H1's. For fun I've got a couple of LC's too yahooooo
530 chain is;
Lighter
Stronger
Cheaper
More readily available
Comes in a range of colours
Comes in a range of budgets
Is easier to cut
Is easier to join
Is quieter
It generates less heat
Wears out less quickly
Is more technologically advanced with new configurations of X W Z etc type seals
Needs less maintenance
Is easier to accurately adjust
Is easier to fit and work with
Links can be found easily
Sprockets from some other bikes can be used
Absorbs less power
I could not go back to 630 even if they were free!!
