Well finally! I bought this back in 1997 but it has been under wraps in the garage, covered in WD, for the last 15 years ever since the boy was born. It has survived many a financial crisis but I finally managed to get the old girl MOT'd and back on the road. Just a little nervous on the first ride but 5 miles in and a great big beaming smile appeared on the old boat race!
Still a bit to do to, re-spoking and such like but I think I'll just enjoy for a while.
I would only put a 4 into 4 on if I was considering selling cus I just love the noise of the 4 in 1, nothing quite like it!
New to this site (forgot to tell the insurance man - doh) but I have enjoyed looking at all the other pics of the finest looking bikes ever built!
Only issue I have is the historic tax thing, headstock sticker advises Aug 76 (which is quite late for Z's I believe) but log book says 1977. Any advice on how I prove to DVLA that it is 1976 which will allow me to tax for free?
Thanks

Well done for getting it back on the road
On the logbook it should say somewhere "declared manufactured " and the year. This is what the DVLA has used on my US models for historic status.

Re: It lives again at last
Did the historic tax on my z900 earlier this year, mine was logged and I had proof that it was 1st registered in 76, so it worked out. Because it was on SORN I had to tax it, apply for status and then got a refund, such is official behaviour!
Given you suggest yours shows registration in 77, I suggest you just wait until after the date shown in V5, proving otherwise will probably take that long anyway......
