this could be me but what exactly does the push throttle cable do on a z1.fitted mine yesterday on my rebuild and cos the carbs have a mega strong return spring it just looks a complete waste of time.

On my flatslides you'd say the same thing, that the spring would easily close the throttle, but I've had enough air pressure going through the carbs to slow the slides closing down if the throttle isn't pushed closed.
