What are these?
Hi all. Sorry in advance for yet another question. Below in pic is my engine, I believe it's a mk11 engine after previous discussion here. On the cam cover at the rear of the front cam cover part are 4 dome things, look as though the cover comes from another head that had some kind of oil way running along it. Domed on top with holes beneath, hope this makes sense? If anyone here can make sense of my ramblings and can explain what they are please feel free...
Re: What are these?
Blanks for the USA clean air gimmick that sucked air into the exhaust to burnt any excess fuel vapour - eco-friendly in the 70's!
Some USA bikes had extra stuff on the cam cover with reed valves to allow this operation - best to block/junk it anyhow!

Re: What are these?
Thanks. I am getting around to ordering cam gasket ready to check valve clearances. Would this effect the gasket I need? Cheers, Ian.
Re: What are these?
Probably not - it you get a MkII cam cover gasket without the blanking lugs, won't matter.

Yes makes sense. Thanks again...I'm really not as thick as my posts make me seem. Just been ages since I owned a bike that I can actually do work on myself.
Re: What are these?
It's not a "thick" action to ask a question if in doubt
