Re: The Z900A4 I "stole"
I got a good weekend at the bike and allmost got it finished, just a bit of wiring to tidy up and put the body work on. I'll get some photos up tomorrow if the sun is out.
I connected a dummy fuel tank up top try to start her up but fuel leaked out of the tee pieces that link the carbs, they seem to have dried up and are a very loose fit, so new ones ordered today. I ran down to a mates house and borrowed a spare set of carbs he had in the garage and the bike started up first try after 20 years off the road, I'm well pleased. Bike ran for about 5 mins and the bloody tee pieces on the spare carbs started leaking too ffs. Is this a common problem? There is no O rings, they are alloy encased in rubber. well thats put a hold on things until new tee pieces arrive, but hopefully on the road by next weekend, cause I've got the bit between my teeth now.
Just to plumb the brakes and sort the carbs and I'm on the road. MOT booked for Friday so it better be ready.I haven't got a log book back from DVLA as they need pictures of the bike complete and a picture of the frame number. Anyone else had this problem with a bike thats been off road for a long time and logbook lost. Its a genuine UK bike and the frame or engine have never been changed to my knowledge and I've know the bike since the early eighties.
