She shares her duties with my Z900rs Cafe but she's still my favourite.

I've had her just over a year now , most of that spent fettling and tinkering with bits and bobs on her.
Alf at 'Alf's motorcycles' in Worthing finished the setting up and tuning and I picked her up last Saturday. I have managed to put more miles on her in the last couple of days than I did in the last year.
DavidZ1R , yep they are blueing a bit more than I expected , I suppose it didn't help having them on there whist all the tuning of the carbs ect was being done.
I have been attacking them with 'Blue Job' chrome polish powder today and it seems to be making a difference. Lets see if it lasts.

I had the same with my Z900, the garage should have been running a fan on the headers to prevent this, I spent a couple of hours with belgom alu and a LOT of elbow grease, and it got rid of it

Back into hooligan mode , Delkevic 4 into 1 with minimum baffles , whilst I polish out the blueing on the 4 into 4 down pipes.
Re: My 78 kZ1000 A2
In my lil ol' opinion, I think it looks better with the 4-1
I do like miltiple pipe systems but 4-1 is the best, make it loud baby

A couple of hours with some 'Blue-Job' chrome polish powder yesterday and the much shinier Doremi's are back on the bike.
I was quite surprised how well the 'Blue-Job' polish worked.
Let's see how long they stay this colour.

For me the 4 / 4 pipes give it a bit more style and class than the 4 / 1, nice bike.
