Re: Z 1000 St E2
The carbs have been completely rebuilt and the intake rubbers are pattern parts. What is happening is that after the throttle is blipped it takes a while to return to tick over. But once it is at tick-over it idles quite nicely, i sealed the carb rubber to cylinder head with silicon. The carburetors i believe are off a kz1000 b4 having x 2 fuel inlets instead of one.
Re: Z 1000 St E2
Today i attempted to tidy up the wiring, with mixed results.
I am trying to get the routing right to give it a semblance of order.
After this i will attempt to get it MOTed

Re: Z 1000 St E2
Hi
the frame number is on the left hand side of the steering head, close to the "made in japan" stamp.
That's the reason why I don't like powder coating, it's too thick...
Good luck with the search.

Hi Avon
don't let a little set back get you down, replace both the fork oil seals and put some passenger footrests on your bike, these are only minor problems, no big difficulties with huge amounts of costs and work.
Go for it! You can fix it.
During the time I was writing a reply, you allmost fixed the little problem! Good to see that you allso put a new stanchion in it. Once the chrome is damaged it's useless to place new seals, they get damaged after a few miles and the work you did is lost. The rubbing of the sharp edges causes damage to the seal.
When the chrome is damaged above the normal working range of the stanchion there is no problem.
