Hello!
Hi,
Mark here. 1961 vintage. Been riding since 1968. I have a few bikes including a 1975 Z1B that is far from standard or mint! It has all the goodies we loved back in the 70s and I like it that way. Akront rims, Metmachex Swing Arm, Vance and Hines pipe and , of course KandNs!! . Sadly it has been painted very badly. I have cleaned it up and painted it, but think I might put it back to standard paint.
It runs Ok after I cleaned and balanced the carbs. Now working on the forks. New stanchions required as pitted and the internals need a spruce up too.
Anyway I'll be here now and then asking for a bit of help mainly regarding suppliers of parts i reckon.
I am pretty handy on the spanners so hope to sort most of the problems myself.
Cheers
Mark

Re: Hello!
Hi Mark
I used to live in Guildford and owned a Z1B back in the early 80's.
Stick some photos up of the bike - bad paint or otherwise.

Re: Hello!
Thanks all. And Yes Mark was a rather common name back in the 60s eh?
Here are a few Pics as it is at the moment.
I am rebuilding the forks. New Stanchions, but any ideas where one can get the sealing rings for the damping rods thingy? (It's a bit like a piston ring and the old ones are red anodised by the look of them). One of them is serviceable but the other is shot.
Also rebuilding the front brake and replacing a leaky hose while i am at it. Id rather like to lose those metal pipes, so on the hunt for a connector to take the hoses all the way to the calipers.

Re: Hello!
Nice bike, Mark. Looks like you've got a Z1000 tank on it? Also, an 18" front wheel maybe?... what does it handle like?

Re: Hello!
I've only ridden it 200 yards as no brakes on the front due to a fluid leak! Didn't get above about 20!
Is the tank and seat unit different to the Z1B then? They look similar to me but i'm no expert.
It was cheap so would not surprised me it it turned out to be a bitsa here and there!
