Theres a load of them for sale on ebay from Germany etc. These are also Electrex ones just for more money. The original K item does not have a woodruff keyway cut into it for the 1000 / 1100 J engined range. It relies on 116 ft/lbs of torque to lock it onto the taper. The Electrex ones are designed to fit a small range of bikes which presumably have a keyway fitted in the crank and therefore a much lower torque figure to secure them. 116 ft/lbs of torque on a taper with a slot is asking for trouble. The stress at the base of a crack is 2000 times that at the surface and all that. I have limited experience of the Electrex ones on J models. I have known one to crack at the keyway but not known any to stay in place! I am sure some people continue to use them to this day, however just because Electrex says something is OK does not make it so in other cases i, and others have found. No problem with the company just its reluctance to admit when its made a mistake.
