Sold Sold Sold 1980 Z1000H

#1 PostAuthor: Swirl » Mon May 06, 2019 8:15 pm

Offered here first, I will be listing it elsewhere in a couple of days if it doesn't sell here, the price elsewhere is going to be £2200ono I am open to sensible offers from forum members.
Right where to start, I'm sure it is a UK bike with H engine and frame numbers, the full new logbook is here in my name, it hasn't been taxed since 1988, it has been kept somewhere warm judging by its condition, the frame was painted green at some point but rattle canned over with black, the tank looks in excellent condition from the outside, haven't tried to force the genuine Kawasaki keys in the tank cap to look inside, the tank looks to be a genuine H tank with the return in the bottom of the tank, I have the side panels and chain casing, some other parts with it to, it has in the 80's been converted to carbs it was own by bobbyZ1085 back in the 80's, it looks to have had a new chain fitted, the lazer exhaust is in good solid condition, also has marazochi rear shocks, it has 28k mile on the clock I cant see any reason it not being genuine, the main part I can see missing is the seat, I have not as yet tried to start it, it does kick over and has decent compression on each pot when kicking over. It is a project and not been taxed since 1988, although attention to the brakes and a set of tyres who knows it could be on the road, another year till its 40 and tax and mot exempt.
Located Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
I may take a Px on a Z1-R frame and logbook + cash. It's to complete for me to start pulling apart a matching numbers UK bike to build a special.

surely it is no longer a 'H',
the frame might be worth something to the guy who was trying to sell a.'H' with a lesser models frame,ie fake 'H' on various forums and auction sites.
good luck but it was the injection which made the bike, nothing else,

Personally I think it looks good for the money, it's yet another bike I'd buy if I had an industrial unit to keep them all in, sadly my single garage is full at 3 bikes and the ton of junk (mostly Yamaha fairing panels) I seem to have accumulated.
An expanding collection of parts pretending to be a Z1100R and a Yamaha FZ750
