I need to repaint an early z1 black fuel tap as some of the paint has flaked off.
Have any of you had to do yours if so which paint would be best as it needs to be fuel/solvent resistant
Thanks

Hi bedlow1
use a 2 component flat black epoxy paint and use a spraygun to achieve the best results.
Don't use an ordinary spraycan, the paint will come off.
I use a paint that can be applied directly to the metal and that doesn't need a primer. The paint I use comes from Capecoatings, a Belgian manufacturor. Perhaps there's a distributor in the UK?
Good luck

Could always get it ceramic coated, probably cheaper than a tin of paint.

Graham,
Doug Cox repainted a few Z1 fuel taps for me,they have a good durable finish.Make sure you mask any threads and the inner part of the lever that goes into the tap body.
Regards
Steve.
