Head studs

#1 PostAuthor: King of Kings » Sat Nov 09, 2019 6:59 pm

Hey all, what’s the easiest way to fit new exhaust clamp studs? Every time they’re wound in, they come back out when removing nut, unless held/butchered in place with mole grips?

What nut are you using ..Lock nut ? and running it down to the plain portion to screw the stud in.
You need to lock two normal nuts together and tighten the stud in with a drop of Loctite.
Then unlock the nuts and remove them.
Stud shouldn't come out if tightened correctly.

Use a domed nut with a ball bearing inside to screw them in then the domed nut comes undone easily.
