Cam cover repair or not?

Anybody had a cam cover repaired seems to good to bin or do costs outway. Have put an message in wanted in case anyone has a spare to sell

Very repairable. A bit off ally welding and 10 mins with a dremel. Even easier if you still have the missing piece, 30 seconds with some jbweld.

Hi bedlow, probably not that local to you, but give Tony at Pit Stop motorcycles a ring, he's round the corner from Z Power.
He's an excellent welder and a fair chap. I've used him, as have others on here.

dont know if its a london area thing but was quoted £96 inc Vat which makes it not worth doing.

that's a piss take you would not pay anymore than £20 in the midlands :mad

I only paid £20 to have an exhaust stud hole built up, done in less time than having a cup of splosh, done at a fabricators in Wisbech.

I thought it was a bit pricey initially he said £66 when i showed him the photo of the job but when i took it in he said it was more involved ie. hole needs filling in then shaping and drilling to get an invisible repair but it would cost £150. I said this was way above the earlier quote and he said £96 was the best he could do. I will keep looking for some place more reasonable otherwise its a trip to the midlands or Cambridgeshire. :D
