Clock bracket foams

#1 PostAuthor: z2.john » Mon Nov 11, 2019 11:17 am

A few years ago I looked into getting accurate copies manufactured for the clock foams. I got a sample set made in sticky back EPDM foam. They were potentially an excellent alternative with perfect fit and sponginess but at the time they could only do 5mm thick which was too thick. I can now get these cut in 3mm EPDM but there is a MOQ of 25 sets if I proceed. I’d need to sell at £10 a set to cover the costs if anyone is interested.
Below are some images but bear in mind this was the 5mm thick sample. The first image is a 3D representation in 3mm.

I spent quite some time making templates and painstakingly cutting out my foam replacements back in April and could have really done with these then!

Yes, they will do for Z1 to Z1B. I should point out that if you have the Z1A/B with the stop light in the tacho, you will need to make a simple scissor cut as below on one of the foams to allow the bulb holder to sit properly.

OK.....I'll get a batch made up and let anyone interested know when they arrive.
Cheers

Can anybody advise if the seating platform for the instruments is the same or similar for the Z900 A4's?

Looking at the photos of both the Z1 and Z900 A4 side by side they look to have identical/similar instrument mounting platforms? Though they do not seem to use the round pads?

So on that basis can you please reserve a set for me.

Thanks

Andy
