New member (inherited 74 Z1B)

#1 PostAuthor: kfc_Wurzel » Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:42 am

Hi all, unfortunately due to my dad passing, I have inherited a 74 Z1B, original uk bike not imported.
It was road worthy 8-9 years ago, but was taken apart for some head welding and a
rebuild, but sadly never made it back to the road.
Has brand new quad exhausts still in the packaging :down and a bunch of other new parts unfitted.
I joined up to Z1 Owners on Facebook they directed me to you guys on here. Looking to maybe restore myself for my dads sake, but my passion is cars not bikes much to my dad's annoyance.
So if time doesn't allow I may have to pass onto somebody else to complete the work.
These are some old pictures I have.
Thanks Mike.

Your passion is cars not bikes AT THE MOMENT :D once you get involved with the Zed hopefully you’ll see what your dad saw. Much easier to work on and keep than a car. A car sat that long would be a big problem.

Welcome along and stick with it...

Hi Mike
welcome to the club.
I would suggest you restore the bike yourself and keep her as a memory of your father...once you sold her, she won't come back.

Welcome Mike, as others have said keep it. Even if you don't do the work yourself it's a great reminder of your Dad.
