Front brakes Z1 1973

#1 PostAuthor: Adrian90s » Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:48 am

Hi guys,
My whole brake assembly was dry on my Z1 USA bike when I bought it last year. I'm thinking of sending it to Powerhouse (Chesterfield)
To be rebuilt, they don't do brake hoses (?) Should I renew everything? The caliper look almost silver in colour, should I put it back like that or change to a pattern satin black?
Are powerhouse any good? I'm going to put the whole brake assembly in a box and post it out.
Thanks
Adrian 1973 Z1

Thanks Bill,
Been talking to a man called Mike
The fluid reservoir is slightly silver in colour, should I re-use or fit a pattern satin black one?

Ive done both in the past ,i presume you mean reservoir is losing its paint colour through fading and casting is showing
through ? if you ask Powerhouse nicely they might have a look at refurbing it for you but i guess its whether you want
to keep original or not , repo ones are cheap enough

Thanks for that Bill,
Refurbishment of original stuff is acceptable right?

Refurbishing original parts is preferable to fitting reproduction parts.
