Early 400 in blue (not sure of the model but it's the on with no tailpiece), 76 vintage, but white and red comes a close second and that bike looks very very nice!
Re: rd 400 rebuild
I had a yellow 400DX with all the black parts chromed including the cylinder heads chrome Allspeeds great bike but wised up and swapped it for a z650b1

Re: rd 400 rebuild
Nice RD400, though I must be the only person who doesn't like them despite having had two of them, an RD400C and an RD400D, one was blue, one was red, but I can't remember which was which, I thought LCs were loads better to ride, though the brakes were a lot better on the RD400s.
An expanding collection of parts pretending to be a Z1100R and a Yamaha FZ750

Re: rd 400 rebuild
Looks like a lot of us cut our teeth on those. My first big bike was an RD250c. I loved it and would have gone for a red & white 400 after that. But the 'elsie' came along which turned me into a drooling teenage wreck.
