New Member trying to register USA import

#1 PostAuthor: Arnie » Wed Feb 05, 2020 7:19 pm

Hi everyone
As I mentioned I am new to this forum so hello all.

I am looking for advice/help I have filled out the v55/5 and sent it with other documents.
Frustratingly I don't have the original registration document from the USA as I bought the bike from a chap over here I did ask for it when I was buying the bike but he said he couldn't find it. I do have the NOVA certificate. I have contacted Kawasaki USA they have given me the date of registration as 1979 but the DVLA have asked for the day and month, the chap in the USA said their computers don't go that far back.
Has anyone here had this problem? does anyone know how I can get this date please.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts please. :?:

Mine was a 76 December (no day date as I didn’t have one ) which should have been a R reg... submitted with Dec 1976 they gave me a P plate dated 1Jan which would have been impossible .. six weeks later they sent me an R reg for a Jan77 ?? Seemed to me it was some kiddie who didn’t know plates changed in August back then or the system wouldn’t allow it .... Got a personal plate for it but I still have a 76 bike showing as a 77 on the V5...
Oh and as an aside they made me mot it for the plate assignation...

If you don't have the reg doc/title then you need an age related certificate. I believe Jerry does them on here or you can use the VJMC or Rick Brett.
