Z900 Z1000 rear fender Euro

#1 PostAuthor: Sgt.Pinback » Tue Feb 11, 2020 5:08 pm

Selling a used rear fender for Z900, Z1000, long Euro version, complete with reflector/bracket, rear light with rubber etc.
So p & p.

All in good, usable condition. The chrome has some spots where the licence plate is. Hardly be seen with licence plate mounted.

Inside some surface rust espec. on the bracket. Otherwise I gave it 1/2 hour TLC with Nigel´s fab. stuff.
Still some mud and grease there but good given its age.

Asking EURO 275 incl. shipping cost in our great European Union

Looks as if the chrome is pretty perforated. Given you viewed Z1AMOS's Z1A as a restoration project worth only six grand, I would have thought that you have some front to polish the rust of a rusty old mud guard and than ask top dollar. Looking at the cost of re-chroming this part which will leave the metal really thin after polishing out the corrosion I would think it had a value of about thirty quid.

I would have let this go, had I not just read your rudeness about someone's pride and joy they were doubtless reluctant to sell. If he was being unrealistic with his asking price the lack of punters waving money at him will show that. You , however, have spammed up a corroded old part to look better than it is and affixed a big price to it.

I suggest you re-read the thread about Z1AMOS's Z1A in club For Sale. You weren't the only one, but your rudeness stood out from a load of bile. His bike may not be a perfect original, minter. but if it had been it would fetch more money. It's not your place to value his bike. The bike is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Bit over priced, rechrome it and stick it back on at 300 euros, you should sell.

Not sure what you mean about great European Union ? This subject has no place motorcycle forum.

Followed the advice and spent some more minutes on cleaning with quick glow.

Fender is sold.

To me the fender is just scrap, i never liked those long things way back in 73 when i saw my first Z1, and this member tries to sell everything at silly prices, and as for the Z1Amos issue it appears the two post's he made as a member was just to try and flog the bike, which on a personal basis i think was way overpriced.

Glad to hear that Quick-Glo cleaned it up nicely.
As regards price, I'd say that the OP is selling at a fairly standard price for those. And it comes with a completer rear light assembly and the little reflector and bracket (which are usually missing). Not to everyone's taste, I agree.
