Z1000ST Fork Brace

I have a fibreglass front mudguard on my ST and would like a fork brace to bridge the forks. Has anyone got one they'd part with?

I’ve got this mike I pulled off a d3 I broke u can have it just post cost it will need a re chrome though ? Or strip it and chuck it on a polishing mop ?

Hi Mike

if you have the original ST fork the brace that compoz1r proposes to you will probably not fit.
The ST forks are quite different from those of a D3.

Thanks Philippe, what are the differences between the two? Fork spacing or fork diameters or both?

the outer diameter of the lower fork legs is 49 mm but original ST fork legs have a strenghtening rib at the front and at the back. I don't think there's enough space above the ribs to mount the fork brace. I never tried one, but who knows, it might work. You can only be sure if you try it. And if you only have to pay the shipping costs what can you loose?

Just below the dust seal is 62mm but the mud guard sits quite high so would need a large offset in the middle of the brace, and the dust seals may need cutting down to allow a purchase on the leg, or are you looking at going 'through' the mudguard as opposed to on top of it?

Thanks to Compo z1r for some dimensions of the fork brace for a d3. Yes, Philippe and Moizeau you were right the brace won't fit a ST. The biggest difference seems to be the ctr to ctr which is approx 40mm more on the ST .
