H**** C90
Please try not to choke on your weetabix , not z related other than it may save the z from shopping trips... worth a try and apologies to the testosterone knee down twist the throttle and hang on brigade but I am thinking of adding a nice C90 to the old collection... As time goes by I now feel that on a nice sunny day I can jump on something like this and scoot up to Sainsbury’s and fill the old top box, no need for full leathers, boots etc .. some prices are madness nowadays but looking for something pretty mint ,original, low mileage , early round light would be best but square isn’t a problem.... pm me if you are too embarrassed to fess up to ownership

Hey I've had 9 "bogseats" since 1979, 1 x 50, 2 x 70's and the rest 90's. Awesome concept regardless of what the club members think.
However, prices are just piss taking, that's why I've bought an early 70's XL125 instead. Loads cheaper, quicker and better looking.

Had a 50 back in the day which I dragged out of the bushes and used everytime my pampered new RD250 broke down again - Fantastic bikes and more reliable than a Wood Burning Stove.
Don't mention prices though as some people will think you have a "Hatred" of them ...

How many of these are at the bottom of quarry pits and canals?
When I was a kid at Norton, a chap had 2 c70's, extended swing arm on one for a bit of trials, the other was his workhorse, went to a rally in Germany on it, got the longest drive prize, and his car was a 2CV

Never had a C90 but wish I’d got a garage full of them now!! All lined up and ready to be sold!!
Re: H**** C90
I bought a C50 from the local Kawasaki centre for thirty quid in 1977 and tried to ride it ten miles to work to save paying for a lift every day... finally got there but left it there and got a lift home! I subsequently sold it to the husband of a friend of my mum’s for what I paid for it. I don’t think he rode it, just went out and started it sometimes to amuse himself. The centrifugal clutch kept sticking which meant in traffic it would suddenly release with a bang and wheelie which was kind of embarrassing... only Hodna I’ve ever owned
Re: H**** C90
A couple of months ago a mate & myself went to Newcastle. (County Down, seaside place that attracts bikers over here). There were a few nice bikes around, obviously none as nice as my ZRX, but the most attention was on 2 Hodna C90s. Neither was at showroom standard and the two guys (relatively young- 20s?) had just come 30 miles on these things.
I got chatting to them briefly, they said they pulled in to get petrol and had to fill both bikes at the same pump to get over the "minimum sale" volume of fuel!
They were just out having fun on them, and getting more interest than all the shiny more powerful machines around them!

Nothing wrong with the venerable old H**** Cub, after all H**** built its bike empire on the back of these little bikes.
I have ridden loads of C70’s and C90’s during my biking career, they were cheap to run and maintenance was very straightforward. The plastic leg shields gave an amazing amount of protection from the elements.
All of my Cubs eventually succumbed to the dreaded rust where the pressed steel frame would just start to disintegrate.
Decided a few years ago to recapture my biking youth and treated myself to a nice little H**** C90m. It was just sat in this old guys garage in the next village to me. We agreed a price and I was a Cub owner again!
She now sits proudly next to my Z1000 and H**** Goldwing GL1100.
I added the front carrier and shopping basket- yes, I know it’s sad!

That’s a nice little motor!
I do sort of like them but I’d need to get two of them, one for each butt cheek!

Absolutely brilliant bikes. Back in the early 70's most of the guys in my bike club had 1 or 2 Cubs to potter about to the shops etc. As most of us also had big bikes at the time (I had a Z1-B which I'm currently rebuilding) we often used to use the Cubs to pop down to the club as most of us lived fairly close to the clubhouse. I even rode to LLandysul from Harrow on a C50. It just made it although the last 30 miles were in 1st gear as, unbeknownst to me, there was a thrust washer missing from the box and I lost 3rd then 2nd in quick succession after crossing the Severn. Great fun. Biggest selling vehicle of all time, I believe.
