Fuel level

In the shop manual there is a figure quoted in the carb specs for the VM28 (as fitted to my Z1-B) of 32 +/- 1mm for the "Fuel Level". There is no explanation as to what this relates to. Can someone illuminate?

I would imagine its the measurement to the top of the floats with the carbs inverted. This is ok to get them roughly correct but to get them accurate you need to do them using the wet method.

I have no idea on that measurement, i have it in the factory manual, what it relates to is a mystery to me, but with the carbs inverted it should be around 24 mm from carb body to bottom of float, i always follow that with the clear tube method though.
