Re: New Project
All wiring tested out yesterday always a worry when you bought a bike with spaghetti wiring add ons everywhere , i'm lucky as in my mates
a proper Electrician and comes and checks my work once i have done my bit he gave me 9.5 out of ten a bit critical i thought as i lost .5 for
one indicator wired wrong way round . Just got to spend a couple hours cleaning clocks etc under dashboard now even though it's just
a riding resto not a show queen.
My paint man Shaun says i can collect the bodywork in two weeks so getting close to the end, carbs to assemble though

Re: New Project
Back where it belongs, just waiting for a nice new toggle switch to come for the hole on right hand side
which turns clock of to save battery

Re: New Project
Finally talked myself into getting on with the carbs only float levels to set now and a titivate up with a bit
of solvol maybe, then it will be time to press the button and see if i got her back together properly
Been quite a long tidy up job for me as i bought it last December.
Sadly on reassembly i noticed one of float bowls had a crack in so had to put a temp one on which needs a
bung on bottom for now.

Re: New Project
Or your biting your nails wondering what cock up's you've made Zapo
Slipped the carbs and air box on today so maybe i will press the noisy button tomorrow and see what goes Bang

Re: New Project
The eagle eyed will have spotted air box rubbers not connected, i was letting them relax after fitting as i find they connect
up a lot better next day . Now on and ready for fuel and the noisy button.
These are a set of 28s i bought of Wired George yonks ago for my Z1r project, i've swapped choke set up over for the cable that
the 1000S run's i don't know about the others's, this was done as i'm not entirely happy with how it's own have come up after
being in ultrasonic so i will do more work on them sometime.
Need a bigger Workshop + Garage now Zapo this got dumped in it

Re: New Project
So sorry to hear that
Re: New Project
Well the day of reckoning came, added some fuel fitted her new battery pressed the noisy button and lo and behold
it started . All seemed good so just a bit of fine tuning check ignition timing etc.
Patted myself on the back and moved onto GT550, fetched the wheels back with there new tyre's on and got that
rolling around again ready for a good clean up. Seat is going to Bob the seat Monday for it's new cover and then it will
be ready for action or maybe Ebay.

Re: New Project
Nice I've 2 GS1000 projects here, an E and an S, will both be modified, the S has had the frame altered unfortunately and the E is ment to be getting a turbo, got a engine in bits some forged flat top wisco's and few other motor bits for that, as well as my Z1R and a KH400
Re: New Project
I've a queue of Zs after these so back from the Dark Side for me, apart from the commando
Re: New Project
Had the GS1000 running today and checked the ignition timing all good Then balanced the carbs so ready for body work and
a spin out to see how it goes,'m hoping it's better than my last which i found gutless compared to a Kwak.
