GPZ seat re-covering

#1 PostAuthor: JimBoUK » Mon Jan 25, 2021 7:55 am

Hi all,

I have a GPZ1100B1 that I’m doing up and it’s not going to be standard.
It currently has a tatty non standard seat cover on the plastic base.
I want to have an ELR style seat.
On EBay I could buy ELR seat foam and cover for £100.

Any suggestions on the best approach here.
Will the ELR style seat fit OK using my seat base ?
Will the eBay approach be OK and is it something I could take on myself ?
Or maybe I should do this via a bike seat upholstering specialist ?
If I do it myself how do you fix the seat cover to the base ? Glue or staples and if glue then what type of glue.
Thanks

Just done the same thing on my B1, although I got given the foam and cover.
Easy job to do, watched a YouTube video and borrowed my wife's heavy duty stapler, took my time doing it and it looks good.
Although I prefer the other seat I have at the moment, but I have the option to change it in the future.

Thanks RobW.

Good to know.
What is the other seat you have that you prefer ?

I bought a new complete seat, ELR style, from Bob The Seat for about £150

It's similar to the elr style one, but not perforated or so wide.

+1 For the Pit Replica covers! Best I’ve ever used!
