Z1000A1 bought in bits...
Now that I'm putting my Zed back together, I can't work out how the battery box and associated brackets fit. I don't have all the bits, which is part of the problem and I'm not sure I trust the parts book (actually PDF) that I have. I seem to have a bracket that doesn't appear in the parts list - see photo - can anyone advise?
I have the battery box and the main bracket where most of the electrical gubbins and connectors go. What I could really do with are some photos of how this area should all fit together - I can't seem to find much online 'cos it seems to always be for 900's. The engine mounting brackets were missing too, and I got some for a 900 but of course they are slightly different because of where the rear master cylinder mounts are welded to the frame - so I cut one down to fit for the RH rear upper; that's OK but then the plate I have that connects across to the left hand bracket is too long but I can modify that (or make one).
If some kind person with an A1 has some photos of this area it'd be really appreciated. Also not sure if this is identical to the A2 model in this regard - I think it is but not sure.
Cheers Zed heads

the bracket (above) is a z900 rhs item, the battery goes in from the side, with the side panel removed, then the bracket bolts on and is also a side panel mount. try cmsnl.com for diagrams of your 1000 battery box.

Ah, thanks very much. That explains why I can't see where/how it fits my frame....
The diagram on CMSNL is the same one as the PDF I have. I'm therefore just missing the top bracket - which I see ZPower do a replacement for. Good! Thanks for this.

Hi Chris - that's the same diagram that I already have.
What would be nice would be a couple of photos of all the gubbins behind the LH and RH side panels, and above the battery...
I see in your gallery photos there's one of the RH side, but it's a bit small and dark in the photo...
I do have the genuine manual, which also helps a bit but isn't entirely clear on this.
Cheers

Not sure if these will be of any use to you. I’m currently stripping a z1000A1 .
Hope they help.

Sorry just saw this and I see someone's already replied.
I've just realised that I am missing the small bracket that bolts onto the rear master cylinder mount and provides the lower mounting point for the rh side panel... bugger. Maybe I'll make one.
Actually just seen that ZPower do one!

If you have any damaged stuff, such as kitchen sinks etc., check with Z-Power first. They probably have one in Lime Green with a big K embossed on it.
