Z1000R Wiring

#1 PostAuthor: Skid Mark » Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:55 pm

Hi all!
I'm tidying up the loom before the nesting season starts.
I have a Blue/orange wire cut clean. It's taped to two black wires which are on a triple connector, there are only two brass female connectors in the triple block. Looking at the diagram, I think the BL/O wire belongs in the connector. Problem is I can't make out any detail in the diagram. I think it is going into a Reserve Lighting unit, but I can't really make it out. If this is correct what is the unit and its function.
Thanks in advance.
P

I would also like to know a bit about this unit you mention too Mark. I have a brand new Z1000R USA wiring harness and it may need this unit attached unless i can find out exactly what it does and then bypass it.

The reserve lighting system is a safety device for the usa & when your headlight bulb fails it automatically switches over to the other fillerment. not fitted to european models

Sounds relatively easy to bypass it, certainly seems achievable looking at the diagram.
