Well, at long last I got the body work completed. The decals are a little short around the edges of the bikini fairing and the tank, but the paintwork is spot on and I'm not going to loss sleep over something the vast majority would not notice. One word of advice, don't get decals until you are ready to paint. I got mine a while back and when the sprayer went to fit them the gold stip stuck to the backing paper, turns out the post mark on the envelope was 2022! I only have myself to blame, and the spray painter wasted no time and just ordered a new set, which was fair enough.
All in all, very pleased. I need to get around to changing some connectors and please God, it will all go together without too much resistance!

Amazing how a week ago I though this bike as all set to go once I got the bodywork back. Now I'm struggling to find the parts and lables etc. I squirrelled away over the last 5 years, and I'm seeing stuff that really needs replacing because it is too tatty dispite being perfectly acceptable before I packed it up! Also front brake doesn't feel the best now after giving it a quick squeeze after God knows how long. I think its like building your own house. It's never really finished!

When I got mine done and the fairing decals came to the front not wrapped round. I looked a lot of pictures of Lawson some do some don’t so I don’t think there’s a definitive right or wrong. It looks good so if someone comes up and tells you it should be otherwise tell them to

I painted an elr for a mate. He supplied a decal set which didn't wrap around. We spent a lot of time confirming which was original and every kawasaki literature and period photo we found had them wrapped around so that's what we went with.

You’re probably correct but mine was white originally so it’s the wrong colour and it’s got an ‘82 paint job and it’s an ‘83 so I’m not terribly worried about total accuracy, certainly not enough to get changed. The decals were from Imageworks who have a pretty good reputation but I never looked at them before I gave them to the painter.

I’m not too worried about it being perfect, if I was I would have had the crest on the tank, but personally I really dislike it. But Iam really please with Davey’s work. Thanks for recommending Paintbox Chris, he was sound.

Yes, I don’t remember why in particular, but after initial research I did think the wrap around was correct, I’t could have been from you Warren, but very pleased non the less
