Don't suppose anyone has one of these they want to sell. Mine slips round on the ball bearings, it's done it twice now and if I sell the bike I want it to be right. I presume its worn by the looks of it.Looking at new ones they look very similar to mine, what else would cause it to slip round when i pull the clutch lever.

Re: Z1000j clutch release pully thing
I couldn't find one so fixed mine with some judicial welding.

Re: Z1000j clutch release pully thing
Is the cut out on the floating bearing retainer plate and the one on the adjuster plate; lined up with the 'cast-in' peg in the casing? If not, it will make what is normally hap hazzard; impossible to adjust correctly!!!
My ramp plate looks the same as yours and works fine and has had no issues to date. What is odd though is; the length of the lever arm on yours which looks to be excessive. I believe mine is the same as the picture below which would make it shorter than yours!
I can check if you like.

Think your right Al, mine is also the shorter version. A longer arm would make the clutch lever lighter but would also increase torque on the mechanism which might be the issue.

Re: Z1000j clutch release pully thing
Thanks for the help guys, I noticed the cms one looks shorter, I'm going to have another look at everything, I do have another cover from another engine but the mechanism on that one is bolted in, this one (the housing that the ramp plate fits into) is cast into the cover.

Re: Z1000j clutch release pully thing
Just had a close look at everything, the clutch cable was adjusted quite a lot in having slack taken out, so that to be able to fit the nipple into the lever arm it was already pulling it up the ramp. I've fully slackened off the cable and hopefully it might be ok, cant try it yet because the spring has broken in two. I'll nip into zpower and see Phil on Tuesday if he's open. I thought my ramp mechanism was worn but hopefully now i know its the same as yours Al it might be ok.
